📚 Spotted Reading! 👀
We spotted Provo Deputy Mayor Kyle Friant enjoying a good book! We appreciate community leaders like Deputy Mayor Friant who support reading and set a positive example for Provo students. When young people see adults and community members reading, it reminds them that reading is for everyone.

Provo City School District is holding a parent night event to help parents connect with resources in the community and provide education on important topics that impact families with school aged children.

This event will be held on September 16, 2026 at Centennial Middle School (305 E 2320 N, Provo, UT 84604) from 6pm-7:30pm in conjunction with the parent teacher conference.

As a part of this event, we will be holding a mental health screening which is free to students of Provo City School District. There will be pizza, drink and prizes as a part of the event. We look forward to connecting with you during this parent night event.

This week’s FFVP tasting is a colorful one! 🍇💜

Students will get to try mammoth green grapes (some nearly the size of a golf ball) along with fresh purple asparagus. It’s another chance for students to explore new flavors, textures, and fresh produce through Provo City School District’s Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program.

📚 Spotted Reading! 👀

We spotted Canyon Crest Principal Mark Burge reading during a classroom visit on Friday! When students invited him to join their popcorn reading, he was happy to jump in and read right along with them.

Moments like this show our students that reading is for everyone, whether you’re a student, teacher, principal, parent, or community member. 📖🦒

Last spring, Shoreline Middle School student Emmy Chappell nominated her school counselor and Hope Squad advisor for the Provo Way Award. Emmy’s nomination focused on something students understand immediately: whether an adult feels easy to approach.

“Mr. S is so welcoming,” she wrote. “He can make anyone feel better and is so easy to talk to.”

Then she gave an example. During lunch, Kory went around to the tables to talk with students. Emmy said it was “always so fun to see him.”

Emmy wrote that he knew his students well and made it a priority to talk with them and help whenever he could. It’s clear that Kory builds relationships before any harder conversations. He’s working steps ahead to make students feel safe and comfortable.

🎙️ New episode of What’s Up with the Sup!

Timpview High School was recently ranked the 9th best high school in Utah by U.S. News & World Report, and Principal Momi Tu’ua joins Superintendent Wendy Dau to talk about what’s behind that success.

From expanding access to AP and concurrent enrollment courses to strengthening literacy, supporting ninth graders, and making sure every student has an adult they can turn to, this is a great episode about the intentional work happening across the entire Timpview community.

🌺🌊 The energy was HIGH at Provo Peaks! 🌊🌺

Students walked the red carpet into their school assembly with leis, high fives, and plenty of excitement as Principal McCarty, teachers, and staff went all-in on this year’s Moana theme.

But behind all the fun is an important message about what it means to be a Provo Peaks PUMA:

From the decorations and costumes to the cheers welcoming students in, Provo Peaks is kicking off the year with school spirit and a reminder that PUMAS know how to find their way! 🌺🐾
