ANNUAL HEARING SCREENING NOTIFICATION

Dear Parents/Guardians, 
Hearing is an important part of your student’s ability to learn and progress at school. 
For this reason, and in accordance with state and federal laws, we conduct a yearly
hearing screening to identify children with potential hearing problems.  Our annual
screening typically includes entry into preschool, Kindergarten through 3 rd , 7 th and 11 th
grades, students in special education programs, students new to the school or district
and for students with parent/teacher concerns.  
The hearing screening is a very simple procedure and will take only a few minutes. If
your student is absent or does not pass the initial screening, they will be rechecked on a
later date and you will be notified if there is a continued concern.  If you do not want
your student to participate, please send a signed note with them indicating you do not
want this service provided. The hearing screenings at TIMPANOGOS will take place
on Thursday, September 3 rd 2026.

NOTIFICACIÓN ANUAL DE DETECCIÓN AUDITIVA
Estimados padres,
  La audición es una parte muy importante para la habilidad de aprendizaje y el
progreso de su hijo/a en la escuela. Por esta razón, de acuerdo con la leyes estatales y
federales, llevamos a cabo un examen auditivo anual en toda la escuela, para
identificar a los niños con posibles problemas de audición. Nuestro examen anual
incluye la entrada al preescolar, grados de K-3, 7 y 11, los estudiantes en programas de
educación especial, los estudiantes nuevos en el Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Provo
y para los estudiantes con inquietudes de padres/maestros. 
 
El examen de audición es un procedimiento muy simple y solo tomará unos minutos. Si
su hijo/a está ausente o no pasa la evaluación inicial, se volverán a verificar en una
fecha posterior y se le notificará si existe una preocupación. Si usted NO quiere que su
hijo/a participe, antes de la fecha del examen, envíe una nota con fecha y su firma al
maestro Inglés/a de su hijo/a que indique que no desea que se le brinde este servicio.
