Two camper spots just opened up for Camp Fierce - Stillwater. This is an incredible opportunity for young women interested in the fire service to spend the weekend learning hands-on firefighter skills, building confidence, and being mentored by women in the fire service from across Oklahoma.

If you know someone who may be interested, now is the time to apply before the spots are filled.

Training day at the station. Huge thank you to Chief Williamson over at Country Corner Fire Department for volunteering his time to come help conduct driver/operator training with our department.

Today’s training focused on maneuvering, backing, cone courses, and getting comfortable behind the wheel of our emergency response vehicles. Opportunities like this help build confidence, improve safety, and better prepare our members for responding when the community needs us most.

We appreciate departments and leaders who are willing to share their knowledge and invest in helping volunteer departments grow and strengthen their training programs. Thank you again, Chief Williamson, for your time and support.

🚒🛠️ Day 1 of 2 of Vehicle Extrication Firefighter II training is complete.

We spent the morning in the classroom covering extrication concepts and safety, followed by an afternoon of hands on training. Today’s practical skills included vehicle stabilization, cribbing, lifting airbags, and practicing techniques for safely removing patients trapped under vehicles.

We’re thankful for every opportunity to continue learning, building skills, and better serving our community when our people need us most.

This afternoon, Prue Fire Department responded to a reported structure fire within our district. GCVFD arrived on scene first and initiated fire attack operations, with PVFD and Frontier assisting on scene shortly after.

The structure was reported to be an older vacant residence with no occupants inside. Thanks to strong mutual aid cooperation and teamwork between departments, crews were able to work together to bring the incident under control safely.

We are thankful for neighboring departments that continue to answer the call alongside us when our community needs it most.

🔥 International Firefighters’ Day 🔥

Around here, it’s neighbors helping neighbors.

It’s leaving the dinner table, getting out of bed in the middle of the night, or coming off a long day just to answer the call.

It’s training nights, time away from our families, and doing what needs to be done without being asked.

It’s not always easy — but it’s always worth it.

Proud to be part of this crew. Proud to serve this community.

If you’ve ever felt pulled to be part of something like this… there’s a place for you here.

HazMat Ops — Complete ✔️☣️

Wrapped up HazMat Operations class today.

This weekend was a mix of classroom and hands-on training. We worked through hazard and risk assessment (size-up and ERG), PPE selection and proper donning and doffing, spill control (diking, damming, diverting), decontamination setup and operations, incident command and communication, and understanding how hazardous materials behave on scene.

Proud of our crew for showing up, putting in the work, and taking this training seriously. This is the kind of training that protects our firefighters and our community when it matters most.

HazMat Ops Weekend 1 ✔️☣️

We wrapped up our first weekend of HazMat Operations training in Drumright. There was a lot of time spent in the classroom, along with hands-on work in different levels of protective gear, air monitoring, and operating in full PPE.

This training helps us respond safely and effectively when hazardous materials are involved, and that directly benefits our community.

One more weekend to go, then it’s time to put our skills to the test and earn our certifications.
