Lee is back to teach another crafting class! Thursday, Sept 10, join us for an adults-only evening of creating a coiled basket.

Dolly Parton aka "The Book Lady" (January 19, 1946-August 25, 2026)đź’”
Today marks the departure of a legend. ♥️ Iconic doesn't begin to cover what Dolly Parton was and forever shall be.
Known for her music, acting, and philanthropy. Dolly made an impact on the world.
In 1995 she launched her Imagination Library program. Inspired by her own father's inability to read or write, she determined that there had to be a way to help children fall in love with books. The program sent free books to children from birth to age 5 and helped inspire a love of reading in the lives of the children in the mountains of her youth. This wonderful idea spread from one county to the entire state of Tennessee, to then the entire United States. And now it has expanded to Canada, United Kingdom, Australia and Republic of Ireland. Generations of children and adults dubbed her "The Book Lady" because of her passion for accessible reading material to children. Over 270 million free, age appropriate books mailed to date. Mayes County is blessed to be a part of this program through our Friends Group. Rest in peace, you are gone but you will never be forgotten. ♥️

Hi hello! We have 4 FREE wooden pallets here, up for grabs. They're by the dumpster in the Library parking lot. A big thank you to our sponsors Friends of the Thomas J Harrison Pryor Public Library and Welch State Bank! We will be drawing our grand prizes for ages 0-18 this morning and calling our winners! If you are one of our winners you can pick up your prize at the carnival tonight! See you all for a fun night of games starting at 5pm. Our costume contest will be judged at 6pm by Miss Mayes County!
