Good Evening Roncalli STEM Academy Families!

This is Principal Cservenak and we have a super busy and engaging week ahead of our Wolf PACK School Community. There are field trips and events all week so please review this message with care.

All 6th and 7th graders received a flyer for a Welcome Event and Open House at PAA this Tuesday, May 21st from 5 p.m. - 7 p.m. This is a special family night for students who are enrolled at PAA next year and will give families an opportunity to meet teachers, see clubs and get sense of their new school community.

RSA 6th Graders will go on two field experiences this week:

On Tuesday, May 21st, 6th graders will go to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Field Trip forms were sent home this past week and need to be turned in Monday morning to get an accurate sack lunch count.
On Wednesday, May 22nd, all 6th graders who are enrolled at PAA for the next school year will go on a short morning field trip to PAA to engage in team building activities to help with the transition next year. Permission forms will be sent home Monday for this trip. Students are required to wear a Roncalli spirit shirt, polo or plain black or grey shirt to this event.

RSA 7th Graders will also go on two field experiences this week:

On Tuesday, May 21st, 7th graders will go to the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary. Field Trip forms were sent home this past week and need to be turned in Monday morning to get an accurate sack lunch count.
On Thursday, May 23rd, all 7th graders who are enrolled at PAA for the next school year will go on a short morning field trip to PAA to engage in team building activities to help with the transition next year. Permission forms will be sent home Monday for this trip. Students are required to wear a Roncalli spirit shirt, polo or plain black or grey shirt to this event.

A small group of Roncalli 8th graders will go on a field trip to CSUP for a college visit on Wednesday, May 22nd. Permission slips will go home on Monday.

Ms. Vargas will hold an 8th Grade Music Appreciation Night this Wednesday, May 22nd to recognize her 8th grade musicians. Information should have been sent home inviting students.

The Track and Field Team will hold its team banquet Tuesday, May 28th from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. in the Roncalli cafeteria.

For the final Roncalli 8th Grade Continuum, our faculty will host it on Wednesday, May 29th in our school auditorium for all 8th grade families followed by a semi-formal dinner and dance in our school cafeteria for our 8th grade students. The ceremony will start at 5:30 p.m. in the Roncalli Auditorium and all family members are invited with the dance and dinner quickly following for Roncalli 8th grade students only. 8th graders should plan on dressing formally in a Roncalli polo or above to honor this event.

A kind reminder that there will be no school on Monday, May 27th in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.

And another reminder that ,due to the upcoming school closure at the end of the school year, the last day of school has been changed to Thursday, May 30th. This applies only to Roncalli students and does not apply to other schools.

And finally, as a closing gift to all students, our student activities organization has purchased a yearbook for every student in the building. If you have purchased a yearbook already, our front office is issuing a refund for your purchase.

Have a great evening,

Good evening Roncalli STEM Academy Families,

A kind reminder that the special Roncalli School Choice Window has been extended to Monday, May 6th. If you wish to choice into another school other than where you are enrolled for the next school year, take this opportunity to fill out a choice application now.

Additionally, due to the upcoming school closure at the end of the school year, the last day of school has been changed to Thursday, May 30th. This applies only to Roncalli students and does not apply to other schools.

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week this week! Make sure to send a little gift, a note or even just a simple email voicing your appreciation for our wonderful teachers. Monday is also School Nurse Appreciation Day, so our sincere gratitude to our nursing staff who helps our students and staff everyday.

Congratulations to our Roncalli Wolves Pueblo Rangers Soccer team who finished their season this past Saturday. It was a joy to see you grow so much this year!! Thanks to Coach Putnam and Coach Vasquez for a wonderful season!!

All students will take the NWEA MAPS Reading Assessment on Monday, May 6th. This is our end of year assessment that shows right away how each student has grown academically over the course of this school year. Last week, many of our students showed growth in their Math assessments and we look forward to seeing this continued growth tomorrow.

8th grade families - Field Trip permission forms for students to go to a presentation by Medal of Honor recipient, Drew Dix, at the Center for American Values and then go on the Walk of Valor on Tuesday, May 7th have gone home. We will speak with students tomorrow about how to dress and conduct themselves at this important community event that honors our veterans and reminds our students why Pueblo is known as Home of the Heroes.

7th Grade Families - permission forms for the 7th grade field trip to the Olympic/Paralympic Museum in Colorado Springs will be sent home Monday afternoon. Please make sure these permission forms are returned as soon as possible - this is an excellent field trip to learn about the Olympic/Paralympic culture in Colorado.

Our RSA Track and Field teams and those who qualified will compete in the D60/D70 tournament this Wednesday, May 8th at Dutch Clark Stadium - good luck Wolves!!!!

Have a great evening!!!

Good afternoon Roncalli Families,

With the closure of Roncalli STEM Academy at the end of the school year, you should have received both an email and a printed letter indicating the school where your student is enrolled for the 2024-25 school year. Please note that these letters also include information regarding how to request a different school through the choice process. Roncalli students have been prioritized in this process and so if your student is interested in attending a school that is different from what they were assigned, we encourage you to complete the choice application soon. If you have questions or need assistance, please contact our front office at 719-549-7450. Thank you and have a nice evening.
