The Housing Authority of the City of Pueblo is providing this information on the Public Housing Application, What to Expect Next and some FAQ.
Application Review
If your application is approved: Your name will be placed on the Public Housing waiting list. Once you are on the waiting list, you will not receive additional correspondence until your name reaches the top of the list and housing becomes available.
If your application is denied: A denial letter explaining the reason for the denial will be mailed to you through the U.S. Postal Service to the mailing address listed on your application.
Waiting List Information
The waiting list is generally managed by the date and time your completed application is received, although applicants who qualify for an approved preference may receive priority.
Waiting List Preferences
You may qualify for a waiting list preference if you provide documentation showing you meet one of the following:
-Involuntary displacement due to a federally declared disaster.
-Victim of domestic violence within the 90 calendar days immediately preceding the date of application.
-Currently experiencing homelessness.
-Families that include a person with a disability.
Employed household
Single persons who are elderly, displaced, homeless, or have a disability may receive preference over other single-person households, in accordance with Public Housing regulations.
Documentation supporting a preference may be submitted at any time during your time on the waiting list.

Can you tell me where I am on the waiting list?
Unfortunately, no. We are unable to determine your position on the waiting list or estimate how long it will take before your name reaches the top of the list.
How will I be contacted?
All official correspondence is sent through the U.S. Postal Service, as required by federal regulations.
What if my address changes?
It is your responsibility to notify our office of any address changes. Address updates must be submitted in writing to ensure you continue to receive important notices regarding your application.
