👾🧦 Friday Storytime: Monsters! 📚✨

Our little learners had a monstrously fun time at Friday Storytime on August 28th! Miss Elizabeth shared two silly and entertaining stories, "Monsters Love Underpants" by Claire Freedman and Ben Cort and "Tickle Monster" by Josie Bissett. 👹😂

Storytime is always filled with opportunities for our youngest learners to listen, laugh, imagine, and explore! Through books, themed activities, songs, movement, and play, children build important early literacy, language, social, and listening skills—all while having fun with friends. ❤️📖

If you have a little learner ages 0–5, join Miss Elizabeth for Friday Storytime each week at 10:00 AM in the Giles Heritage Theater at First National Bank. We can't wait to see you there! 🌟

Circa 1988, computers were already becoming an exciting new resource at the Giles County Public Library! This photo captures two library users exploring technology on what looks like some very early computer workstations. 🖥️

From bulky monitors and keyboards to today’s desktops, free Wi-Fi, and digital resources, library technology has certainly come a long way!

Canva Basics: Graphic Design for Beginners

Interested in learning graphic design but not sure where to start? Join us for the Giles County Public Library's Canva Basics series.

This four-class series will meet every other Tuesday*, beginning September 1, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Participants will learn the fundamentals of graphic design using the Canva platform, including design principles, layouts, typography, colors, images, and creating eye-catching graphics for print and social media.

No prior experience is required—just bring your curiosity and creativity! Seating is limited, so early registration is encouraged. Classes will be held at the Main Branch of the Giles County Public Library.

*The last class will be held on October 20.
