COURSE ALERT! Independence Volunteer Fire Department is hosting an Emergency Vehicle Operator Course: Level I, II, III on April 13 – April 15.

This course enhances safe vehicle operation by stressing theory and principles of defensive driving in both emergency and non-emergency situations. This class explains how emergency driving differs from non-emergency driving.

Law enforcement has cleared the facility and the lockdown has ended. No weapon or person of interest was located on campus.

New River Community College is currently on lockdown and law enforcement is investigating a report of a suspect on campus with a weapon.
No shots have been fired or injuries reported at this time.
Law enforcement agencies are working to clear the facility, Fire & EMS are staged on sight to assist as needed.
Pulaski County Schools are currently on lock down as a precautionary measure.
