Garden Talk & Plant Clinic | Tuesday, July 14th from 1-3pm
HONEY BEES & POLLINATORS
You can do your garden right - water, soil, healthy plants - but without pollinator friends you may not have much of a harvest! From bees to beetles, pollinators are essential to the success of your garden. This month’s talk will focus on bees in our garden, why taking care of bee hotels is important, and how to help protect bees in our own backyard. Dr. Priya Chakrabarti Basu, WSU Assistant Professor of Pollinator Health and Apiculture, shares her passion through ongoing community education and has authored a children’s book to help spread pollinator awareness among young readers.
Garden Talk meets the second Tuesday of each month. Each session features a presentation on a garden-related topic, followed by a walk-in plant clinic where WSU Master Gardeners answer questions and accept samples of problem plants for diagnosis. Stay the whole time or just drop in for the part that interests you.
