You may help by making a donation of food, or cash if you are unable to do the grocery shopping. "The Society has two aims: to do a great deal of spiritual good to its members through the exercise of charity, and to do a little spiritual and temporal good to a few poor families in the name of Jesus Christ. If it did not continually seek to combine these two aims, it would lose its raison d'etre. I

f it were to seek only the holiness of its members through pious exercises, there is no lack of Confraternities and Third Orders to meet that need. If on the other hand, it were to seek only the relief of the temporal miseries of the poor, it would only add one more to the list of public and private institutions founded for that purpose."

To kick off September we are highlighting our volunteer Ivan!

Ivan has been a Vincentian for six years.
He serves in interviewing and learning what individuals need who come to Saint Vince de Paul for assistance.
His favorite part of being a volunteer is helping neighbors and being with fellow volunteers!

His kindness, selflessness, and resilience does not go unnoticed, thank you for everything Ivan!

Have you ever wondered about the history behind the name St. Vincent de Paul?
Known as the patron saint of charitable societies, St. Vincent de Paul dedicated his entire life to serving those in need, organizing relief funds, establishing the Congregation of the Mission, and displaying radical compassion for the poor.
Today, we carry on that exact same mission right here in Punta Gorda and Charlotte County!
