As we head into Labor Day weekend...

The Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce office will be closed Monday, September 7th, in observance of Labor Day.

But before we head into the long weekend, we want to recognize the people who make our community work.

The small business owners who open the doors each morning. The employees who keep those businesses running. The hospitality workers welcoming our visitors. The healthcare professionals, first responders, tradespeople, educators, nonprofit teams, entrepreneurs, and everyone else who puts in the work every day to keep Punta Gorda moving forward.

Labor Day is a celebration of the American worker....and here at home, it's a reminder that our local economy is ultimately powered by people.

So this weekend, enjoy a little well-earned rest...but don't forget about those who are still working!

Eat local.
Shop local.
Tip generously.
Support the people who make Punta Gorda such a special place to live, work, visit, and do business.

Watching the new Peace River Wildlife Center - PRWC take shape is exciting, but what makes it even more special is that both BRJ Restoration and Peace River Wildlife Center are Chamber members. This is what community collaboration looks like: members supporting members and working together to strengthen the community we all love. We are proud to see two local organizations partnering on a project that will have a lasting impact on our region. Thank you to both BRJ Construction and Peace River Wildlife Center for bringing this vision to life and helping make our community such a special place to live, work, and visit.

Last night, we had the pleasure of attending Judy Lynch Portraits photography exhibit. As one of this year's nominees for the 2026 Business of the Year Award, Judy continues to impress not only with artistic talent but with the ability to tell powerful stories through a lens.
Judy's creativity, vision, and dedication to her craft were evident throughout the entire exhibit and showed the emotion and power that goes into dance. We are proud to have talented Chamber members who use their gifts to inspire and make a lasting impact in our community.
