Copied from a Moose member's post.
Here is a good reminder:
A young lady came into a lodge while the band was unloading and getting ready to play. She sat at the end of the bar near the door, like any other member would.
She was approached by the bartender and the girl asked for a Bud Light, the bartender asked her if she was a member, asked her for a member card, and the young lady told the bartender that she wasn’t a member, it was her dad who was a member and she was waiting for him. The bartender told the young lady that she was going have to wait until her dad gets there before she can serve her a drink. After a few minutes of waiting, the young lady got up and left .
Turns out that she was a decoy for liquor control, she was underage and looking to bust establishments. How do they know this? She busted a bar down the road later that night and people who were there identified her to a tee.
Moral to the story, as much as you think our bartenders are hard on people who come in there by asking for membership cards, and being strict about the rules, this is exactly why. If you are a member bringing in nonmembers, please remember to sign them in the book located by the server station. Please do not send them to the bar for drinks, we cannot sell to them. If you're a member from any Lodge and our bar staff is questioning you or wanting to see your card, and you don’t have it, we will not serve you. Please understand that situations like yesterday is exactly how bars get busted. Please do not treat the bar staff with disrespect, they have a job to do and they are there to protect our Lodge.
