Today is our FREE Friday Crafternoons Program at The City of Purcell Parks and Recreation's Multipurpose Center from 3pm-5pm, and we are all set up and ready for you to join us! :) All ages and all crafts are welcome - bring your own craft, or make one of ours! We even have blocks to entertain toddlers. ;) Take a look at some of the different projects our group has been working on to get some inspiration of your own! Bring a friend or make a new one when you get here! :)

You've probably heard about the critical blood shortage that's been a recurring problem this summer as the need for blood increases, and donors are busy or traveling - will you join us Friday at Purcell Multipurpose Center to help us save lives? OBI Will be here from noon to 4pm on Friday, August 28, 2026. Our community partnership includes: First United Bank - Purcell , Purcell Parks , City of Purcell, Oklahoma, and Our Blood Institute. At our last blood drive in June, we had an outstanding turnout, and saved 51 LIVES through our incredible 19 DONORS! We'll have moon pies, moon stress ball squishies, and some really amazing moon-themed t-shirts for our donors while supplies last - AND a choice of theme park tickets! Walk-ins are ALWAYS welcome, too!

Reminders: Eat a full meal within 4 hours before coming to donate; make sure you stay hydrated before, on the day of your donation, and afterwards; stay and eat a snack and rest for 15 minutes after donating; and take it a little bit easy after donating - rest, fuel, hydrate, and smile! We've got this, friends! :)

IMPORTANT NOTICE: The North side of Purcell Lake Road will be closed this Saturday and Sunday, August 15-16, 2026 from 5:00am to 4:00pm for the safety and well-being of our NICA Mountain/Trail Bike Race Participants and our support teams. 🚵‍♀️ Mountain bike racing is coming to Purcell Lake this weekend! 🚵 Oklahoma Interscholastic Cycling League ❤

The 2026 Oklahoma NICA season kicks off August 15–16 at Purcell Lake, bringing student mountain bikers and their families to our community for a full weekend of riding and racing!

📍 Purcell Lake – 1400 Chandler Road

Saturday includes the Pit Zone, registration, GRiT Ride, pre-riding and Open Category racing, with the main racing getting underway Sunday morning.

🙌 They are also still looking for volunteers! No mountain biking experience is necessary, and there are several ways to help, including course marshaling, registration, water stations, pit zone and tear-down.

We are so excited to announce a new program at Purcell Multipurpose Center - Tai Chi for Better Balance! This free program, taught by instructor Tamara Powell through McClain County Health Department is held Mondays and Wednesdays from 8:30am to 9:30am, and perfectly complements our free Adult Aerobics class (taught by instructor Sandie Cook and held every Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am to 10am, also at Purcell Multipurpose Center).

Whether you're new to Tai Chi or experienced at practicing it, you'll enjoy this fun new class and leave feeling stretched, stronger, and more balanced! Both classes are held at the ideal times to drop your kiddos off at school and head over to the Multi for your own time with fun and supportive groups to de-stress, exercise, and focus on your own well-being! 🥰
