The Emergency Drought Assistance Program will re-open sign-ups on October 5, 2026 @ 8:30 am and close on October 30th @ 4:00 pm.

The Oklahoma Drought Commission made the decision to expire all unfunded alternates at 12:00 am on October 4, 2026. All unfunded alternates are eligible to apply again.

If you have already participated in this program this year and received the maximum payment of $7,500.00, you are not eligible to apply again.

This Program is first come, first served.

If approved for funding, the Program pays 80% of total costs up to a maximum of $7,500.00.

The deadline for all Pond Cleanouts is December 31, 2026.

The deadline for water wells, watering facilities, pumping plants, pipelines, and pasture taps is July 1, 2027.

We are now accepting applications for the FY27 Invasive Woody Species Cost Share. The application period is September 1, 2026 to November 1, 2026. You can apply in person at the McClain County Conservation District, 1721 Hardcastle Blvd., Suite B, Purcell, Oklahoma 73080, or online at https://conservation.ok.gov/land-management-division-2/

Sign ups are now open for the Prescribed Fire Cost Share Program. Payment assistance is limited to $20/acre, with a max of $6,000.oo per landowner each fiscal year. Property currently under contract through another cost-share program for a prescribed burn payment will not be eligible. Land parcels are only eligible for payments on a 3-year burning interval.

Application period: July 15, 2026 - April 1, 2027

I wanted to post some pictures of a couple projects we completed last month in McClain County. We did two front slope repairs on High Hazard dams, Finn Creek Sites 18 and 33. We would like to thank the landowners for being very cooperative with the work done on their property and also thank the Oklahoma Conservation Commission for providing us the funds to complete these projects.
