ALR Run To The Thunder

21 DAYS until ALR Run to the Thunder 2017.
It's also Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. RIDE SAFE!

RIDERS:
-Make sure you have the proper training.
-Make sure your bike is ready to ride and safe.
-Be aware at all times, and obey the rules of the road.
-Remember to gear up before you get on the road— wearing the proper gear can prevent serious injuries in a crash.
-Don’t speed, and avoid aggressive driving behaviors.
-Always ride sober. If you drink, find a sober ride home— drinking and riding don’t mix; 40 percent of all motorcycle fatalities were alcohol related.

DRIVERS:
•Always look twice for motorcyclists— use your mirrors and look over your shoulder to ensure safety turns and merges.
•Avoid distracted driving— before you drive, park the phone.
•Watch your speed, and avoid aggressive driving.
•Provide riders with plenty of space— allow enough room for riders to maneuver and you to adjust.

The roof for the deck at the rear of our Post has been completed. As agreed upon by the EXCOM, and as published to our members on February 9, 2017 smoking will no longer be allowed at any time in the social quarters, or anywhere within the in the air conditioned space of Post 293. Smoking members are provided an outdoor area at the rear entrance to the building where they can smoke as desired. We would like to vastly improve the Post to better accomodate the needs of all our members, smoking and non-smoking alike. We need your participation, assistance and if possible volunteer hours to make those improvements a reality. We have many veterans in our area, young and old, that need our support. Please come join us in serving the veterans of Purcellville and the greater Western Loudoun area.

UPDATE: We are looking into quotes to replace the pavers and the lighting as well, once we recieve those we will add them to the fundraising goal. Please note that any money raised will go directly from GoFundMe to the American Legion Post 150 to then distribute to the proper contractors.

American Legion Post 150 has let us know that once we have reached our fundraising goal and the money is disbursed they will take care of providing a receipt for any donations so that any donation made IS TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

I really appreciate everyone who has stepped up so far, and the American Legion Post 150 for working with me. As we get more information on the additional repairs, we will pass that along.

ORIGINAL POST: Please join me in my efforts to see our Veteran's Memorial restored!

Our Veterans have given the ultimate service, and many the ultimate sacrifice. Together let's show our Veterans that Sterling stands with them, and that we will honor that sacrifice, as we always have. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope that you will join me, and encourage others in our community to do the same!
