There are many components and different divisions that have to work in unison to make an effective SO. One of the most overlooked components are the Correctional Officers. They are responsible for the safety and smooth day to day operations of the jails. The LCSO is blessed to have one of the most highly trained and professional group of CO’s anywhere in the state. We would like to honor them for their dedication and commitment to make the LCSO what it is today. Thank you for all you do. Please be safe.

Our hearts and prayers go out to the officers and families of the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office for the senseless line of duty death of one of their own. When one officer bleeds, we all bleed.

We want to take a minute to thank the public for a great turn out for the Battle of the Stars 2-day blood drive last week. Also thanks to Forrest County Sheriff's Office for a friendly competition that increased donations. Together, both agencies were able to provide 43 units of blood for The Blood Center.

Lamar SO also wants to thank the community for their support of the Reid Family through our fundraiser and blood drive for them.
