A failed inspection doesn't mean your facility shuts down, but it does set a clock in motion.

When a fire protection system inspection identifies deficiencies, the inspection provider is required to document them in a written report and, in some cases, notify the authority having jurisdiction, typically your local fire marshal.

Deficiencies are categorized by severity. Impairments, conditions that affect the system's ability to operate, require immediate corrective action. Deficiencies that don't affect immediate operation typically allow a defined window for repair, but that window is not unlimited. Insurance carriers may also be notified depending on the severity.
