Thank you to Dexter’s Fire Chief and representative of the Bootheel Local Emergency Planning Committee, Don Seymore for donating a Drager X-am 2500 4-Gas Meter to our department. This meter is designed to detect and help locate gas leaks and is a very useful tool in our line of work. We are grateful for our large community support that spreads from other departments as well!

Patches is an 8 month old, state registered, Dalmatian. Chief Wolfe was very surprised to have met his newest right hand tonight! You will be seeing a lot of Patches in the events to come.

*HE IS NOT HOUSED AT THE FIREHOUSE, his permanent residence is at one of our firefighters home.*

June is National PTSD Awareness Month.

PTSD doesn’t just affect veterans. It can impact first responders, healthcare workers, survivors of trauma, and everyday people facing extraordinary circumstances.

This month is a reminder that mental health matters, asking for help is a sign of strength, and no one should have to fight their battles alone.

To those carrying burdens that others may never see: your struggles are real, your service matters, and there is hope.

Take a moment to check on a friend, family member, coworker, or fellow veteran. Sometimes a simple conversation can make all the difference.

Recently we experienced an equipment failure from a very used pump resulting in our only brush unit being inoperable for water supply. BUT with the extensive hours, days and hard work of our firefighters, the pump was switched out with a backup and missed NO calls. It was much more than taking it apart and mounting a new one! The backup pump was completely opposite of the existing operations. Therefore, everything from the cab back had to be taken apart and switched THEN put back together. It was nothing short of hard work, but as a team we like to think we are unstoppable on the path the success!
