๐๐ BACK TO SCHOOL = BUS SAFETY! ๐๐
School will be back in session, which means more school busesโand more students getting on and off them. Letโs all do our part to keep our students safe! ๐
๐จ KNOW WHEN YOU MUST STOP FOR A SCHOOL BUS:
๐ RED FLASHING LIGHTS = STOP!
When a school bus has its red lights flashing and the stop sign is extended, drivers must stop and remain stopped until the lights stop flashing and the bus begins moving again.
โ ๏ธ Two-lane road: Drivers traveling in both directions must stop.
โ ๏ธ Multi-lane road: On multi-lane roads (three lanes or more, a physical barrier, or raised median) drivers traveling in the opposite direction generally donโt need to stop, but must proceed with caution.
๐ธ Remember: Children may be crossing the road, and they can be unpredictable. Never pass a stopped school bus when the red lights are flashing.
Slow down, stay alert, and watch for students, crossing guards, and school buses as everyone gets back into their school-year routines.
Letโs make getting to and from school safe for everyone! ๐๐
