Congratulations to two of our own!

Tonight, Firefighters Kaleb Rider and Ayden Witman graduated from Quakertown Community High School and The Upper Bucks Technical School.

Both joined our department as Junior Firefighters and have dedicated countless hours of hard work and service throughout their high school careers. We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and commitment to our department and community.

Congratulations, Kaleb and Ayden!

We wish you both the very best as you embark on your next endeavors.

It’s one of the first hot days of the season and a great reminder that it’s also Heat Safety Week β˜€οΈ

Take a moment to check in on yourself, your family, and your neighbors. Staying hydrated, taking breaks in the shade, and knowing the signs of heat exhaustion vs. heat stroke can make all the difference.

Stay cool, Quakertown!

Starting this week the Water Department will begin their hydrant flushing. Each year, the Water Department opens fire hydrants throughout the Borough and neighboring service areas. Flushing will take place April through May.

Why do we do this?
πŸ’¦ Flushes sediments from mainline pipes
πŸ’¦ Verifies the proper operation of fire hydrants and valves
πŸ’¦ Helps find weaknesses in the water system
πŸ’¦ Checks for closed valves and weak flows in the water mains
πŸ’¦ Verifies ample flow for fire fighting

During this process, you may notice a drop in pressure and temporary discoloration or cloudiness in your tap water, but rest assured that this is normal and temporary.
