Marine Corps Base Quantico operates 43 live-fire ranges that support training from small arms to explosive demolitions to artillery fire to the delivery of live-aerial munitions. As a regional facility, MCBQ is a critical asset for weapons proficiency training for Marines, the Department of Defense, federal agencies, and law enforcement organizations.

The impact of noise, vibrations, and/or illuminations experienced across the area can vary greatly depending on the residential location, atmospheric conditions, time of day and reductions to naturally occurring sound barriers.

Because training on Quantico is continuous, residents can expect to always hear some noise or feel vibrations. Although we strive to provide accurate daily live-fire operations, please know schedules/live-fire activities can change due to operational conditions.

Due to recent events in New Orleans and Las Vegas, the Commander of U.S. Northern Command has directed all installations to immediately implement heightened security measures at all entry gates to include 100% ID checks, random inspections, and the suspension of the Trusted Traveler program until further notice.

The Trusted Traveler Program was a procedure that allowed DoD-affiliated sponsors to vouch for vehicle occupants to gain entry onto an installation.

Drivers should expect delays and random inspections at entry gates as we enhance the security posture of our installation to ensure our ability to project combat power when and where required.

***MCB Quantico Gate Procedure Change**

Effective on 4 January and until further notice, MCB Quantico requires 100% ID checks for all adults in the vehicle at all gates (24/7).

Please ensure all passengers have their ID ready to present when the vehicle arrives at the gate.

He captured Lance Cpl. Parker Anderson, an infantry weapons tech with Security Battalion, firing an M240B before participating in a machine gun range on Marine Corps Base Quantico. Marines were able to refresh on their skills with the M240B and M2A1 machine guns, enhancing their warfighting capabilities.

The 39th President of the United States, President James Earl Carter, Jr., passed away yesterday, December 29, 2024, at the age of 100.

President Carter was a Navy Veteran, Nobel laureate, and a humanitarian who dedicated his life to the service of our nation and the betterment of its people.
