Uplift Together: At the Airport, No Jew Travels Alone
Every day, thousands of travelers pass through the airport carrying luggage, passports, and plans. But sometimes, they are carrying something heavier: stress, uncertainty, loneliness, or an urgent need for help.
That is where Chabad of the Airport steps in.
For more than fifty years, ChabadAir has been creating moments of Jewish connection for travelers at JFK, MIA, and beyond. What began in the 1970s with the vision of Rabbi Yekusiel Rapp has grown into a daily operation serving passengers, families, airline employees, and airport staff.

Our volunteers are there with a warm smile, a helping hand, and whatever a traveler may need at that moment.
A pair of tefillin before boarding.
A kosher meal during a long delay.
Tefilas Haderech before a flight.
A menorah lighting in the terminal.
A listening ear when someone feels alone.
And sometimes, the need is urgent.
When a passenger is stuck at immigration before Shabbos, or traveling because of a medical emergency, ChabadAir is there with food, guidance, support, and practical assistance to help them through.
Sometimes, even one brief airport encounter can awaken something much deeper. A quick conversation, a memory of a grandfather, a moment of Jewish pride, a pair of tefillin before security.

Today, Chabad of the Airport operates with over 60 weekly volunteers and maintains a daily airport presence for more than 12.5 hours.
We are running a $150,000 campaign to strengthen and expand this vital work, so more travelers can be uplifted when they need it most.
