Last night at drill, our members had the opportunity to practice wall breaching techniques while utilizing our new Scott 5500 air packs. This training allowed our members to become familiar with the capabilities of the new packs while reinforcing the skills necessary to operate safely and effectively in challenging environments.

We also had the opportunity to put our new training prop to the test. This prop was hand-built by several of our members and will provide us with another valuable tool for hands-on training.

Wall breaching is an essential skill for firefighters and can be critical when access or egress is limited. The drill also reinforced techniques for performing both partial and full escapes while wearing our air packs.

Training like this helps ensure our members are prepared to make safe, effective decisions when faced with difficult situations on the fireground. We would like to thank the members who put their time and effort into building our new training prop and helping make drills like this possible. Good work everyone last night!

Yesterday at approximately 15:37 we received multiple calls about pallets on fire endangering a structure. Upon arrival of car 218 it was determined that multiple pallets of cardboard were on fire and they were endangering the building.

Engine 318 arrived on scene and deployed a hose line to keep the fire under control. Engine 315 then arrived and utilized the closest hydrant to help provide 318 with water. The deck gun and blitz fire were also utilized off of 318 to keep the fire under control.

Approximately 2 hours later we returned to service. Thank you to all!
