Most traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) each year are mild TBIs or concussions. They happen from a bump, blow, or jolt to the head—or a hit to the body that causes the brain to move rapidly. This movement can lead to chemical changes, brain cell damage, and symptoms that impact thinking, learning, emotions, behavior, and sleep.

💔Our hearts are aching.
Even though you are no longer here, we will hold on to all of the special memories and music we made and shared together as we are all incredibly blessed to have been able to know you and live through your amazing and kind-hearted spiritual sole! We are seeking a Community Integration Counselor (CIC) to join our welcoming team of providers! You will provide recovery-oriented counseling services to assist individuals adjusting to their Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in individual and/or group settings. It is a counseling service provided to a participant coping with the need to revise long-term expectations, his/her changing roles, and the impact of these changes on him/her, family members and informal supports. Currently the individual hired for this position has the benefit of fulfilling responsibilities in-person, in-home and/or via telehealth as the need arises.
Responsibilities:

Offer counseling to individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI)

Establish open lines of communication for individuals with mental or emotional issues

Implement and review treatment plans

Complete annual assessments

Collaborate with other providers and agencies and attend team meetings

Maintain required documentation and accurate contact notes in a timely manner
Follow HIPPA guidelines and additional requirements noted by the Department of Health

Qualifications:
Candidate must a have: LMSW, LCSW, Master of Social Work, Master of Psychology, Certified Teacher of Students with Disabilities, Certified Rehabilitation Counselor, or Licensed Mental Health Practitioner

Two (2) years of experience providing adjustment related counseling to individuals with Traumatic Brain Injuries and their families

Previous experience in mental health counseling or other related fields

Familiarity with community mental health resources

Excellent written and verbal communications skills

Ability to build rapport with clients from diverse backgrounds
