DUE TO LOSS OF PRESSURE AT RWD #12 AND THE PRESENCE OF BLUE-GREEN ALGAE IN THE LAKE, THE CITY OF QUENEMO IS ISSUING A BOIL ALERT UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

The Community Christmas Tree lighting ceremony will be held on Saturday December 5th at 7:00 p.m.. Please be sure to let others know and come join the celebration.

Warning!!! It has been reported to the City that a man is going around the City offering to clean houses for free. He is trying to sell products such a dish and laundry soap for the house cleaning. If this man comes to your house the smart thing to do would be to call the sheriffs department.

If you have any intention on running for City Council or the Mayor position, you must file at the court house by January 27, 2015 by noon. As of today we have had nobody file.

A couple things, First we now have LIEAP applications at City Hall. You can apply online or we have the paper copies in the office. Next the City has 2 Council positions and the Mayor position open in April, if you are concidering running for any of these positions the deadline to apply at the court house is January 27, 2015.

Received a phone call today from Eckan in Osage City. A group called Catholic Charities will be in Osage on Wednesday January 14. They are a group that help families with rent and utilities. If you are interested please call Eckan at 785-528-5184 to set up an appointment to meet with them.

The City of Quenemo would like to Congratulate City maintenance worker Matt Boggs for passing his water operator exam. This is an extremely hard exam that Matt has been attending classes for the past 6 months for. Now on to waste water in March.

The City of Quenemo and Pride are sponsoring a tree lighting at Quenemo City Park on Friday November 29, 2014 at 7:00pm. Everyone is invited to attend and to help decorate the tree. Cookies and hot cocoa will be provided. Hope to see everyone there.
