In January, Gadsden County EMS responded to 697 emergency calls, averaging 22 calls per day, and transported 501 patients to area hospitals for continued care.

These figures reflect a sustained and reliable demand for emergency medical services throughout the county. Our personnel continue to meet this need while operating with ongoing staffing shortages that limit the number of available units and place additional strain on existing personnel.

Continued investment in recruitment, retention, and operational support will be critical going forward. Gadsden County EMS remains committed to serving the community with professionalism and readiness, and we appreciate the continued support as we work toward long term stability for our EMS system.

When Gadsden County calls, we answer.

In 2025, Gadsden County EMS responded to 8,954 total calls, averaging 24 calls per day across our community. Of those calls, 6,291 resulted in patient transports to definitive care.

Behind every number is a citizen in need and a crew answering the call—24 hours a day, 365 days a year. These calls are managed with limited staffing and resources, requiring our paramedics and EMTs to continually adapt while maintaining high standards of care.

This is more than statistics; it’s our mission in action. We are proud of our EMS professionals who continue to serve Gadsden County with dedication, professionalism, and resilience—no matter the challenge.

Gadsden County EMS had the honor of participating in a Pre-K Community Helpers’ Day at the West Gadsden Middle School campus. We joined the Fire Department and the Sheriff’s Office to give students a hands-on look at how first responders serve our community.

Throughout the morning, we met with Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grade students in rotating groups. Each class spent time learning about what EMS does, the equipment we use, how to stay safe, and how they can get help when they need it. After a quick talk, the students got to explore our EMS truck and ambulance up close—always a crowd favorite!

Our crew enjoyed every moment of teaching, answering questions, and sharing smiles with the kids. Events like this help build trust, inspire young minds, and strengthen our connection with the community we proudly serve.

Thank you for inviting us, and to all the teachers and staff who helped organize such a meaningful event. We’re always grateful for opportunities to support our schools and invest in the next generation of helpers and heroes. ❤️ Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners

🚑 A Message from Gadsden EMS — Know Where to Go When It’s Not 9-1-1 🚨

Hello, Gadsden County! It’s your friends at Gadsden EMS, here with a heads-up on a great local healthcare resource: MainStreet Family Care – Quincy.

🩺 Why This Matters:
When you or a loved one are sick but it’s not life-threatening — maybe a bad cold, a sprain, or a minor cut — you don’t always need to call 9-1-1 or go to the hospital. That’s where MainStreet comes in.

📍 Where to Find Them:

Address: 1730 Pat Thomas Parkway, Quincy (right next to Walmart on Hwy 267)

Phone: (850) 662-0041

🕗 Hours of Operation:

Monday – Friday: 8AM – 8PM
Saturday & Sunday: 9AM – 4PM

They’re open 7 days a week.

✅ What They Provide:

Urgent Care: For non-emergency illnesses and injuries — colds, flu, sprains, lacerations, and more.

Primary Care: Routine check-ups, chronic condition management, wellness exams, lab testing.

Occupational Health Services: Workplace injury care, DOT physicals, drug/alcohol testing.

💳 Insurance & Payments:
They accept Medicaid, Medicare, and most major insurance plans.

If you don’t have insurance, they also have self-pay options.

📱 Helpful Tip:
You can register online before you go — this helps reduce your wait time.
MainStreet Family Care
But walk-ins are absolutely welcome too.

⚠️ When to Call 9-1-1:
MainStreet is not an emergency room. If you have a life-threatening situation — chest pain, trouble breathing, serious bleeding, unconsciousness — please call 9-1-1 or go to your nearest hospital.

📣 Share This Message: Help us spread the word! If you know someone who doesn’t need ER-level care, but still needs medical help today, MainStreet Family Care in Quincy is an excellent option.
