Great teamwork today! Sierra Regional EMS Air 1 responded to Bucks Lake alongside Plumas 15 ground ambulance.

After assessing the scene, it was determined that the patient's location required a hoist operation, and CHP - Northern Division Air Operations was requested to safely extract the patient and rendezvous with our air and ground EMS crews.

Excellent coordination between all agencies involved, resulting in a successful response in a challenging environment.

Effective July 1, Sierra Regional EMS (SREMS), under the direction of Plumas District Hospital (PDH), will assume responsibility for air and ground ambulance service operations in Lassen County and ground ambulance operations in Plumas County. As part of this initiative, PDH, in collaboration with its regional partners, is committed to strengthening and coordinating emergency medical services throughout Lassen and Plumas counties.

The transition retained the current SEMSA EMS staff who have faithfully served Lassen County for the past 21 years, ensuring continuity of care while supporting a unified regional approach to delivering reliable, high-quality emergency medical services to the communities we serve.

Sierra Regional EMS represents a significant step forward in strengthening emergency medical services across our area. By building on the expertise of our experienced EMS professionals and working alongside our regional partners, we are committed to maintaining seamless service during this transition while creating a sustainable, collaborative model that will serve our communities well into the future.

Please refer to the attached FAQ for additional information and answers to any questions you may have. We appreciate your continued support as we work together to enhance emergency medical services throughout the region.
