The Sanger Center sponsored a Christmas party for ENC Faculty & Staff with the Wollaston Church of the Nazarene and the New England District Church of the Nazarene. It was a great time. Thank you so much to Jeff Turner of Black Thumb Studio for all these great photos (www.blackthumbstudio.com).

We want to make sure that the word is out to all former ENC Faculty & Staff. Help us spread the word!

---

The ENC Faculty & Staff Christmas Party is only a week away!

At this point, we have many people registered, but are hoping that you can continue to help us spread the word. We don’t have access to ENC email databases and are reliant upon those who’ve reached out to us previously and through social media. We really want all former ENC Faculty & Staff from any time period to know that they are invited to this party.

There is a committee hard at work to make this an enjoyable evening! Bring the kids, bring the memories, and let’s celebrate the ENC Community past and present during this season of joy.

(When you arrive on Monday December 9th - 6:00 PM - please enter the Wollaston Church through the Wendell Ave doors into the Metcalfe Gathering Room.)

Feel free to forward this on to people and encourage them to register as soon as they can.

Hope to see you in a week!

(Registration link in the comments.)

The Esther R. Sanger Center for Compassion
Welcomes Paul Bowen as Projects Manager

We are excited to announce that Mr. Paul Bowen has joined the Esther R. Sanger Center for Compassion as Projects Manager. Paul will collaborate with the President and Board to develop and implement strategic projects to grow and strengthen the Sanger Center.

Paul brings over 20 years of experience in nonprofit leadership, program development, and sustainable mission-building. In this new role, Paul will guide our efforts in partnership-building, asset acquisition, strategic planning, and the development of processes for the support of organizations dedicated to advancing a culture of compassion. With his depth of expertise and shared commitment to this mission, we look forward to expanding our impact and capacity to serve.

Paul was the Founding Director of the Trinity Education for Excellence Program (TEEP) at Trinity Church in Boston, a transformative leadership and college readiness initiative for Boston youth. Under his guidance, 100% of TEEP graduates went on to attend four-year colleges. Paul has also served as Director of the Corporate Work Study Program at Cristo Rey Boston High School, establishing partnerships with 90 corporate entities to provide students with scholarships through work placements. Additionally, Paul led a multi-million dollar facility master plan for a camp and retreat center, building a mission-driven team to achieve an innovative project. He has also served as Head of School at Fusion Academy in Hingham.

The Esther R. Sanger Center for Compassion exists to advance a culture of compassion by empowering churches, nonprofit organizations, and other compassionate efforts. ERSCC works to inspire, support, and resource compassionate nonprofits and ministries.

Over the weekend, ERSCC received donations totaling $3658.08 for the ENC Employee Support fund, including almost $2500 from Legacy Alumni of Eastern Nazarene College.

As a matter of accountability at this point, around 70 individuals who applied for help have received two checks totaling $500. In total, $36,250 has been distributed to those affected by ENC's closure.

ERSCC is working on a third and final phase that will see financial assistance directed toward those who are in particularly difficult situations based on a variety of needs (multiple household incomes lost, loss of housing, multiple kids in college, etc.).

Thank you all for your continued support and as always, if you have any questions, please reach out.

Today is the last day of service for a second round of individuals at Eastern Nazarene College (ENC) in the wake of its closure.

Meghan and I had reason to visit campus today. I've been several times of late, but being there with her brought much grief. And also gratitude. But grief.

I want to share more in a letter that's going out to individuals who've thus far supported the initiative to help faculty and staff through the Esther R. Sanger Center for Compassion. A second round of aid is going out very soon. And a third round of more targeted aid soon thereafter. But any support you can offer at this time will still be of great use.
