Longboard Race this Sunday, February 18th at the Historic Johnsville Ski Bowl! Calling all volunteers for race preparations beginning Saturday at high noon! Volunteers will receive a complementary Plumas Ski Club Volunteer T-shirt! We also need volunteers for race day. If you'd like to volunteer Sunday, please email [email protected] for race day volunteer assignments. As always, all are welcome to join and encouraged to bring the family for sledding and other winter fun, or to just enjoy each other's company around the famous Intorf Lodge fire ring! Folks should plan to arrive early Sunday for good parking. We expect to have a shuttle running for later arrivers Sunday, pending road conditions, and will post here if that changes. Announcement 📣

Feather River College was chosen as one of only three colleges to compete in a Collegiate C**t Challenge. The event takes place during the Idaho Horse Expo during April 7th-9th in Nampa, ID. Hosted by the Idaho Horse Council and partnered with the Road to the Horse, this competition has national exposure, which allows the access to an amazing network, experience, and scholarship opportunities for the students.

About Competition: Three schools, with teams of 2-4 students will compete for the championship title. Each team till choose 1 halter broke c**t to work with throughout the challenge. Students must work together to start the horse under saddle within three, 1 hour long sessions. The fourth session consists of a rail and obstacle course.

FRC’s Collegiate C**t Challenge Team:
•Natalie Dalbol: Senior at FRC, graduating in May with her Bachelor’s of Science on Equine and Ranch Management
•Ryley Lukens: Sophomore at FRC pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management
Anna Roth: Sophomore at FRC pursing her Bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management
Sheyanne Houck: Freshman at FRC pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Equine and Ranch Management

The seer of seers,
Was awakened from his wintery nap
At dawn on Gobbler’s K**b
Phil looked to the skies and then,
Speaking in Groundhogese,
Directed this President Dunkel
To the proper scroll, which reads..
I see the morning has brought the finest people
I see their bravery and spirit
The time has come – I can feel it
The excitement – I can hear it
I see the folks with gray in their hair
And the kids all young and scrawny
Their eyes and cheeks aglow
From the cold, clean air of sweet Punxsutawney
I see that everyone knows their part
