What an amazing day the Monclair School PTO got for their “90th year May Festival”! It was so beutiful out and everyone was having such a great time. Congratulations!
Also, a HUGE Thank you to all the NQHS JrRotc cadets who were their volunteering their time helping out!!

Such an honor to once again to attend the JrRotc Awards Banquet this year was the 42nd. Hearing about all the cadets accomplishments and achievements is so wonderful.

Always an amazing event although this year it was bittersweet since Sergeant Delorenzo is retiring and all the students (170 cadets) know there is still no instructor for this program for next year. If you know anyone who might be qualified and interested please have them call QPS. We’d love to save this program.

Tonights Teaching and Learning Subcommittee will be starting st 5pm but has very important information being discussed. I asked for an update on our North Quincy High School JRROTC program a few months ago upon hearing of Sergeant Delorenzo’s interest in looking into retiring, with no other instructor in this program, i became very concerned for the future of this great program. Tonight we will have a presentation from Principal Dan Gilbert and Assistant Superintendent, Erin Perkins.
Also the agenda is information on an AI policy.
If you cant make it in person it will be on QATV on channel 22 and recorded to view at a later time.

After meeting in the Massachusetts State House for over 8 hours, lawmakers on Wednesday voted "YES" on a bill that would restrict social media use for teens and children and ban cell phones in schools.

Also on tonight’s School Committee Agenda is a discussion of the upcoming Quincy School Committee 2026-2027 Meeting dates and agenda items.
I am so thankful for the leadership team to take the extra time to organize this yearly agenda in advance. This is a practice many schools committees across the state are using for transparency with the school committee to know when items will be coming up on the schedule so topics of major interest aren’t missed by parents,guardians, students, teachers or any other interested person. Myself and Mrs. Lebo heard all about the success of using a yearly agenda while at a Massachusetts Association of School Committees conference and brought the idea back to QPS. I am so glad it’s able to be implemented in QPS. *Note items can still be added, but this is a more general guideline.
