Mayor Thomas P. Koch and the City of Quincy are proud to present the City’s 2025 holiday festivities beginning the weekend of November 28th.

Festivities begin at 5 pm on the Hancock Adams Common the evening of Friday, November 28th with costumed characters, fire shows and more. Classic children’s holiday movies will play on a jumbotron beginning at 3:00 p.m. A rockin' holiday stage performance by The Far featuring Neeley Luna, Mark Carey & special guests will take place beginning at 6:30 p.m. The evening will culminate with the City’s annual tree-lighting by Mayor Koch & a visit from Santa. A Menorah will be on display for those members of the community who celebrate Chanukah. Parking will be available in the Kilroy Square Garage as well as Presidents Place Parking Garage.

On Saturday, November 29th at noon, families can turn their eye to the sky from Pageant Field, One Merrymount Parkway, as Santa will be arriving by helicopter to pay a visit to youngsters. Costumed characters will be on the ground to say hello.

The City of Quincy’s 72th Christmas Parade will kick off at noon on Sunday, November 30th at the intersection of Hancock Street and Walter J. Hannon Parkway, continuing up Hancock Street to North Quincy High School. Floats, marching bands and costumed characters, will fill the parade route with holiday cheer for all, and as tradition has it, expect a visit from Santa to anchor the parade before he heads back home to the North Pole.

Letters to Santa can be placed in “Santa’s Mailbox” which will be located outside Quincy City Hall on the weekend of the events as well as throughout the holiday season.

In addition, the City’s free skating program opens on Tuesday, December 2nd. The rink will be located on Dennis Ryan Parkway across from Quincy District Courthouse. More information and sign-up for skating hours will be available at quincyrec.com. Then, on Sunday, December 7th at 5:00 p.m., the City of Quincy will honor our active military at the General’s Bridge and Park Tree-Lighting. The event will take place at the corner of Dunford Drive and McConville Way.
