This new educational opportunity represents an exciting investment in the future of our students and families. We are proud to welcome Franklin Academy to our community and look forward to the opportunities this school will provide for students to learn, grow, and achieve their goals.

The Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners welcomes and encourages public participation at all meetings of the Board. Citizens are free to speak for up to three (3) minutes on non-agenda items. Public comments and participation is also encouraged for items on the agenda.
Additionally, if you are unable to attend a meeting in person, comments from the Public can also be submitted via
email to [email protected] until noon on the date of the meeting. Comments submitted after the deadline, but prior to the meeting, will be added to the official record, but the County cannot guarantee that Commissioners and staff will have adequate time to review comments prior to the meeting.
Citizens are further encouraged to participate on the County’s website at www.gadsdencountyfl.gov.
In accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act, persons needing assistance in obtaining any information from the County should contact Gadsden County Public Information by calling 850-875-8671 or emailing [email protected] at least 2 hours prior to the meeting.
If a person decides to appeal any decision by the Board of County Commissioners with respect to any matter considered at such public meeting, he/she will need a record of the proceedings, and for such purpose, he/she may

Chairman Eric Hinson brings greetings on behalf of the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners to an excited crowd at the 9th Annual Big Bend Rodeo.

With another incredible turnout, this year’s rodeo is on track to set a new attendance record! The excitement, community support, and energy throughout the arena are a true reflection of the continued growth of this event.

We’re proud to support the Gadsden Horsemen’s Association and events that bring families and our community together!

Night Two is here! The 9th Annual Big Bend Rodeo is ready to bring even more action to the Gadsden Horsemen’s Association Arena tonight. Come out for bull riding, barrel racing, bronc riding, team roping and more!

Gates open at 6 PM and the rodeo starts at 8 PM. Tickets are $15, with children 4 and under free. Don’t miss the final night of rodeo action in Gadsden County!

The Gadsden County leadership team was proud to meet with Florida Commerce today to discuss the progress and continued development of projects making a meaningful difference in our community.

From the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Building and the Cowen & Havana Public Library expansion to the renovation of the Havana Medical Center, these projects—along with other community facility and infrastructure initiatives supported through Florida Commerce funding—are helping build a stronger, more connected Gadsden County.

We are grateful for the continued partnership and investment in our community as we work together to create a brighter future for Gadsden County.

Commissioner Shawn Woods proudly joined with Chairman Eric Hinson, Vice-Chair Commissioner Ronterious “Ron” Green Commissioner Alonzetta Simpkins, and Commissioner Brenda Holt, to celebrate a special milestone for the Gadsden County Housing Program with the ceremonial key presentation to Ms. Lorene Brown.

This celebration represents new beginnings, stronger communities, and our continued commitment to safe, decent, and affordable housing for Gadsden County residents.

What a great day celebrating the groundbreaking of the Havana Public Library Expansion! Chairman, Eric Hinson and the Gadsden County Board of County Commissioners celebrate this project and what it represents; continued investment in education, opportunity, and the future of Gadsden County.
