The Plumas County Probation Department is proud to announce the appointment of our newest Deputy Probation Officer, Amanda Meisenheimer.
On March 23, 2026, Officer Meisenheimer was officially sworn in during a ceremony led by Chief Allred. Surrounded by family, friends, and probation staff, she took the Oath of Office and began this exciting new chapter in her career.

Dear clients,
Happy New Year!
Our favorite New Years resolution? Seeing you less often.
No offense, but we would love for 2026 to be the year you graduate from our program(s).
Whether you’re working toward an early discharge, or just trying to keep your calendar organized, we’re rooting for you. Lets trade those “required visits” for “reached goals”

Pro-tips for a successful 2026:
• · Update your address faster than you update your status on Facebook.

• · Keep your appointments like they’re front row concert tickets.

• · Stay safe, stay legal, and lets make this the year of the “Final Check-in”

Happy New Year from all of us at Plumas County Probation Deoartment!

Dear clients,
We’ve checked our list, and we’re checking it twice!
But honestly, we’d much rather see you on the “Terminated Successfully” list this year!
The holidays can be a whirlwind of family, food, and (hopefully) no forgotten check-ins. As you celebrate, remember that the best gift you can give yourself is a stress-free holiday, which means staying compliant and staying safe.

A few Holiday Reminders:
• Don’t be a Grinch: keep the peace at family gatherings.
• Know your “Eggnog”: if your terms say no alcohol, stick to the sparkling cider
• Travel: if you have travel restrictions and you’re planning to visit Whoville (or anywhere outside the county), make sure you have your travel permits cleared first!

Wishing you a safe, legal, and very Merry Christmas from the team at Plumas County Probation Department!

As we celebrate Probation Services Week, I wanted to take a moment to personally thank the amazing staff I have the privilege of working alongside. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to our department. Although probation work can be extremely rewarding, it is also demanding, stressful, and emotionally and mentally taxing at times. Every day, I witness our staff striving to support our court, clients, and community. They are dedicated to excellence and improving our service to the community. They take personal responsibility and ownership of their role as public servants. This is their department, and they have made it what it is today. There is still much to do and many things we want to improve, but this team has elevated this department significantly over the last few years, and I am optimistic that they will continue to do so for many years to come. Thank you, Team Probation.

A struggle ensued and the male was able to set fire to a probation officer. Probation officers on scene were able to extinguish the flames and detain the individual in handcuffs.

The Stockton Police Department was contacted and responded to assist. They took the suspect into custody without further incident.

The Probation Officer was transported to an area hospital for treatment of significant but non-life-threatening burns; due to the extent of his injuries, he has since been transported to UC Davis Medical Center. The suspect was also transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
