Here’s why the economy sucks.

We have an “extractive economy.”

We have what noble prize winners Daron Acemoglu and James Robinson (and many others) call an “extractive economy,” where a small group of people and corporations gain enormous market control and leverage that power to exploit workers and consumers in order to increase their enormous profits.

Systems like these suck up all the wealth and opportunity from society and then give nothing back to the workers and people, and as history shows, this ultimately destroys economies and countries.

We are all seeing it today in higher prices and lower wages, causing all of our money to get sucked up by major corporations, with a future that looks uncertain.

Now, we are at the threshold of enormous economic problems, unless we think big, get serious, and take political action to protect workers, small businesses, and our democratic systems. So let’s do it.

In the face of this giant problem, we shouldn’t lose hope, instead we, the American people, should take action to curb the power of major corporations and put the American people over profits.

And that’s what I want to do as state senator.
