⚠️ TRAFFIC & SAFETY ALERT: Full-Scale Active Shooter Training Exercise This Friday (01/09)⚠️ 🚧 ( BE PREPARED FOR INTERMITTENT 3-5 MINUTE ROAD BLOCKS THROUGHOUT MORNING OF JANUARY 9th, 6:30 AM - 12:00 NOON)
Please be advised that the Quinlan ISD Police Department will be conducting a Full-Scale Active Shooter Exercise this Friday morning at the Thompson Middle School campus.
Because this is a large-scale event involving dozens of agencies, we want to ensure our community is prepared for the following:
đźš§ ROAD CLOSURE INFO:
Where: All along Panther Path and the Thompson Middle School area.
When: Friday, from 6:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
What to expect: Frequent temporary roadblocks (lasting 3–5 minutes) throughout the morning.
Access: The Thompson Middle School complex will be closed to everyone except designated participants.
đźš‘ WHAT YOU WILL SEE: Do not be alarmed by the heavy presence of first responders. You will see numerous police vehicles, fire trucks, ambulances, and mobile dispatch centers in and around the campus. This is a controlled training environment only.

This exercise is a vital part of our commitment to student safety, involving a massive partnership across North Texas. We are proud to work alongside:
Law Enforcement: Hunt County Homeland Security, Quinlan ISD PD, Quinlan PD, Hunt County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, and Pct. 4 Constable.
Emergency Services: South Hunt County Volunteer Fire Departments, AMR, Hunt County Emergency Management, and Hunt Regional Hospital District.
Support Agencies: Caddo Mills ISD PD, Greenville ISD PD, Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM), Collin College Emergency Management, and North Texas Landmark Security.
Our Own: QISD Administration and our talented QISD Theater students who are assisting as role players.
