Our thoughts and prayers are with Richard’s family, friends and law enforcement brothers and sisters.

Richard served as a police officer for the town of Quinton, then later went on to serve as a sheriff’s deputy fo Pittsburg County Sheriff’s Office.

Richards had a strong desire to serve his community, and made a positive impact on most everyone he met.

Richard you will be missed. Your watch is over so rest easy my brother, we have the watch from here.

🚨 New Oklahoma Law – No Handheld Cell Phones in School or Work Zones 🚨

Beginning November 1, 2025, a new Oklahoma law will make it illegal for drivers to hold or use a handheld cell phone while driving through active school zones or construction (work) zones.

This law — House Bill 2263 — was passed to increase safety for students, teachers, and road workers.

📱 What You Need to Know:
✅ You may still use hands-free devices such as Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto.
🚫 You cannot hold your phone in your hand for any reason (talking, texting, navigation, etc.) while in an active school or construction zone.
👮‍♂️ Violations carry the same penalties as Oklahoma’s texting-while-driving law.
🔒 Officers cannot inspect or seize your phone without a warrant or probable cause of another offense.

Our goal is not to write tickets — it’s to keep our community safe. Please put your phone down, stay alert, and help us protect students, teachers, and workers!

Stay safe and drive responsibly! 🚔💙

We would like to thank the US Deputy Sheriff’s Association for the kind donation of two sets of spike devil spike strips. Tire deflation devices such as spike strips are a great tool to help slow and bring dangerous high speed vehicle pursuits to an end.

All officers will receive proper training and instruction before they are allowed to deploy any tire deflation devices.
