It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of life member Don Sheffield. Don retired for Quinton Fire Company in 2019 with 56 years of volunteer service. In 2007 Don was honored as "Fireman Of The Year". Our thoughts and prayers are with the Sheffield family. Rest easy Don, you will be missed.

Quinton Fire Company was a recipient of the NJ American Water Volunteer Firefighter & Ems Grant program this year. We greatly appreciate being selected as we will be utilizing the grant award to purchase a MSA Altair 5x gas meter. The new meter will be another tool our firefighters will be able to use to keep our personnel and community safe. Thanks to Mike & Margaret from New Jersey American Water to present Quinton Fire Company with our ceremonial check.

Quinton Fire Company recently received emergency drinking water through Anheuser-Busch Emergency Drinking Water for Wildland Firefighters program. This donation will go a long way in helping our firefighters stay safe during long calls, high heat, and wildfire response operations. Quinton Fire Company then gave part of our donation to our mutual aid company Salem Fire Department to help stock Canteen 6 with drinking water. We're grateful to Anheuser-Busch and National Volunteer Fire Council for supporting volunteer departments across the country, and to Harrison Beverage Co for delivering the water to our station. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to the anonymous individual who recently restored our memorial garden.

Over time, life gets busy, and spaces like these can quietly fade. We may not know your name, but we know your time, care, and respect have brought new life back to this space.

This garden honors not just a firefighter, but a brother, a friend, and family. Your kindness has not gone unnoticed. It’s a powerful reminder that his memory continues to live on, not just within our department, but in the community around us.

District 2 fire companies spent their morning with hands on training during a extrication drill. Instructors from ESI Equipment lead the training and provided the Holmatro rescue tools used. Thank-you Salem County Recyclers for supplying 3 cars for the drill, we appreciate your continued support. Thank-you Quinton Volunteer Ambulance Squad for standing by and to all the volunteers who came out today.
