Dolly believes that if you can read, you can do anything! Through her Imagination Library, Dolly wants to ensure every child can feel the magic that books create.

The Quitman Pilot Club sponsors this free program that allows you to begin receiving one book per month for your child, birth to age 5. Stop by and register your child at the Quitman Public Library, 202 East Goode Street, Quitman TX. We would love to take your picture with "Cardboard Dolly!"

Hello just wanted to remind everyone that Monday, May 4 at 6:30 p.m., is the Wood County Metal Detecting Club meeting at the Quitman Public Library, 202 East Goode Street, Quitman TX. Our meetings are open to the public, you do not have to be a member to attend, everyone is welcome -- men, women and children. Come one, come all! This month's speaker is Logan Thompson, so let's have a full house. Don't forget you finds from this past month. Hope to see everyone there!

Stop by the Ima Hogg and Honeymoon Cottage museums at the Gov. Hogg City Park, Quitman TX this Saturday - Sunday 1 - 3:30 p.m. to learn more about Wood County's own Miss Ima Hogg from museum tour guides, Larry and Lorna Tucker.

This weekend, stop by and visit the Ima Hogg and Honeymoon Cottage museums at Gov. Jim Hogg City Park in Quitman TX.

Hours are: Wednesday - Friday 10 - 3 and Saturday - Sunday 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Miss Ima, known as "The First Lady of Texas," was born on July 10, 1882, in Mineola, Wood, Texas, to James Stephen Hogg, who later became the first native-born governor of Texas, and Sarah "Sallie" Stinson Hogg. Her unusual first name was derived from a character in a poem written by her uncle.
