Our department has received several grass fire calls recently throughout the area from the Quitman city limits out toward CR 1416 off FM 2966.
With how hot and extremely dry conditions are right now, grass, brush, and vegetation can ignite quickly and fires can spread rapidly β especially with even a little wind. πΎπ₯
We ask everyone to please use EXTREME CAUTION with anything that could create a spark or flame. Be especially careful with outdoor burning, welding, equipment, vehicles parked in dry grass, and anything involving fire.
π One small spark can turn into a large grass fire in minutes.
Please help us prevent fires before they start. If you see a fire, call 911 and give your location as accurately as possible.
WE ARE UNDER A BURN BAN
Stay safe, watch your surroundings, and help us protect our community!
We would like to also give a huge thank you to the departments that gave us the mutual aid support we received
