Join Main Street Winnsboro for Red, White & Bowery — A Patriotic Chalk Art Celebration honoring America 250.

Each Saturday leading up to the Fourth of July, artists of ALL ages are invited to gather on The Bowery and transform the pavement into a celebration of American pride, freedom, and creativity.

Our Small Town Big Spirit 4th of July Parade is rolling through town on Saturday, July 4, 2026!
This year’s parade theme is 1950s, so start thinking poodle skirts, rolled jeans, red lipstick, classic Americana, and all the patriotic charm you can pack into a parade entry.
Whether you’re riding a decorated bicycle, cruising in a side-by-side, or walking with a flag, we want YOU there.

We are proud to announce that the Wood County Historical Commission received the 2025 Distinguished Service Award for their efforts in preserving Wood County history! Another year of distinguished service! We are one of 62 counties out of 254 counties in Texas that earned this honor. This was WCHC’s 19th year to receive this special award.⭐️🤩

The Texas Historical Commission (THC) established the Distinguished Service Award (DSA) to recognize above average County Historical Commission (CHC) preservation efforts and promote CHC accomplishments to the public. DSAs are determined by responses provided on CHC annual reports. Outreach Program staff review annual reports and high performing CHCs, when compared statewide, are recommended for a DSA.
