πŸŽ“ Racine Unified graduating seniors: Your ideas could become part of history.

Over the past several weeks, Mayor Cory Mason has been visiting Racine Unified high schools to encourage students to participate in the City of Racine's America 250 Scholarship Essay Contest.

As America prepares to celebrate its 250th birthday, graduating RUSD seniors are invited to reflect on the future and answer one important question:

What would you like to see in the next 50 years to help America become "a more perfect union"?

Submit an essay of up to 1,000 words to [email protected] by June 6, 2026.

Two graduating seniors from Racine Unified School District will each receive a $2,500 scholarship, and their winning essays will be read during Racine's America 250 celebration before being placed in the community time capsule for future generations to discover.

We know Racine's students have thoughtful ideas, fresh perspectives, and big dreams for the future. This is your chance to share them and leave your mark on history.

🌈 Pride Month is a time to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community, reflect on the progress that has been made, and recommit ourselves to building a community where everyone feels welcome and respected.

Observed each June, Pride Month traces its roots to the 1969 Stonewall Uprising, a pivotal moment that helped spark the modern LGBTQIA+ rights movement. Since then, significant strides have been made toward equality, but the pursuit of dignity, acceptance, and opportunity for all continues.

Mayor Cory Mason has officially proclaimed June 2026 as Pride Month in the City of Racine. As a community, we recognize that our strength comes from embracing people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences.

This month, we celebrate our LGBTQIA+ residents, neighbors, family members, friends, and colleagues, and reaffirm our commitment to making Racine a place where everyone can feel seen, safe, and valued.

Happy Pride Month, Racine. 🌈

🌺✨ Join us in celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month ✨🌺

This month, we honor the rich cultures, traditions, and contributions of Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander communities. From art and food to history, leadership, and innovation 🌏, AANHPI voices have helped shape our communities in meaningful and lasting ways.

It is also a time to recognize the resilience, strength, and diversity within these communities, while continuing to uplift stories that are too often overlooked. Let’s take this opportunity to learn, celebrate, and support. This can include exploring local AANHPI-owned businesses πŸͺ, attending cultural events πŸŽ‰, or simply taking time to listen and grow together!
