🚌 BACK TO SCHOOL SAFETY REMINDER 🎒

With school starting back tomorrow (8/21/26), The Boone County Ambulance Authority would like to remind everyone to use extra caution while traveling throughout our communities.

Please watch for school buses making frequent stops, children waiting at bus stops, and students walking on or near our roadways. Slow down, stay alert, avoid distractions, and allow yourself a little extra time during your morning and afternoon commute.

Today, five of our providers are doing their final presentations to become EMS instructors to help shape the future of pre-hospital patient care in our state. We take great pride in providing top notch education to our current and future EMS clinicians, these new instructors will help bolster the level of training we’re able to provide at the John “Tony” Workman Training Center in Racine.

Special thanks go out to WV Public Service Training for providing the course and to some of our local partners that have provided lunch to the students each day this week.

Today, we're proud to introduce the newest member of the Boone County Ambulance Authority fleet—a 2026 Ford F-350 4x4 Wheeled Coach Ambulance.

This ambulance is more than just a new emergency vehicle. Its special breast cancer awareness graphics are designed to inspire hope, celebrate the strength of survivors, and honor the memory of those who have lost their battle with breast cancer. Every time this unit responds to a call, it will also serve as a visible reminder of the courage, resilience, and compassion that exist throughout our community.

We extend our sincere thanks to the Boone County Commission for making this purchase possible through funding provided by the Opioid Settlement Funds. Their continued investment in emergency medical services allows us to provide our crews with safe, reliable equipment and helps ensure the highest level of care for the citizens of Boone County.

Our team is putting the finishing touches on this unit with equipment installation and further inspections. We look forward to placing it into service in the coming weeks, where it will proudly serve the residents and visitors of Boone County for years to come!
