The Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization (HALO) is an emergency shelter providing services to those experiencing homelessness to become self-sufficient and achieve housing stability. We serve men, women and families.

Culver’s will generously donate 15% of all sales during this time directly to our mission of assisting local individuals and families in need.

We are incredibly grateful to share that SC Johnson, A Family Company has donated $50,000 to support the HALO Meal Program! 🍲

This generous contribution ensures that we can continue providing nutritious meals and a supportive environment for those in our community working to transition out of homelessness. Proper nutrition is the foundation of stability, and this grant makes a direct impact on the lives of the men, women, and children we serve every day.

A huge thank you to the SC Johnson team for their continued commitment to our mission. Together, we are providing more than just a meal—we’re providing hope.

The April 2026 edition of HALO Happenings is here! 🗞️💙

From celebrating our 20th Anniversary Gala to seeing a "Dream Come True" with our newly renovated children's space, it has been an incredible season of growth. We are so proud to share that since July 2025, 89% of those we’ve helped find housing are still safely housed after 100 days. 🏠

Easter joy was in full bloom at HALO! 🐰🌷 We had an incredible time hosting our annual Easter Party for our clients, and it was a day filled with smiles, full baskets, and very special guests. From the egg hunt down our hallways to the perfect photo ops with the Easter Bunny, our building was buzzing with excitement.

A massive thank you to the wonderful volunteers who spent their day making sure every child and family felt celebrated. Events like these remind us that "home" is about the people and the community that surrounds you. Happy Easter from all of us at HALO!

Sometimes the best way to grow is together! 🌱✨ We had such a wonderful time hosting our friends from the Racine Zoo for a special hands-on morning on March 19. Our residents and their children learned all about these resilient little cacti, got their hands in the soil to pot their own, and even enjoyed a cozy reading of "The Mitten."

A huge thank you to the Racine Zoo staff for bringing so much joy, education, and greenery into our building. Just like these cacti, we are reminded that with a little care and the right environment, we can all thrive!
