Racine County Sheriffs Office The Racine County Sheriff's Office: Your Safety is our Priority! The jail's rated capacity of 876 persons make it one of the largest in the state.

We provide the following specialized functions:

The Sheriff's Office is also responsible for the operation of the Racine County Jail. Social Media Comment Policy

Posts/comments on a Racine County Sherif

f's Office (RASO) managed social media web site containing any of the following inappropriate forms of content are not to be permitted and are subject to removal by the Sheriff or his/her designees:
a. Profane, obscene, discriminatory, or pornographic content and/or language;
b. Content that could compromise an ongoing investigation;
c. Personal identifying information of any person, except as allowed under the Freedom of Information Act;
d. Defamatory or personal attacks;
e. Threats to any person or organization;
f. Posts/comments in support of, or in opposition to, any political campaigns or ballot measures;
g. Solicitation of commerce, including but not limited to advertising of any business or product for sale;
h. Conduct in violation of any federal, state or local law;
i. Encouragement of illegal activity;
j. Information that may tend to compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems; or
k. Content that violates a legal ownership interest, such as a copyright or trademark, of any party. Repeated or egregious violations of this policy may result in being “banned”, or disabled from the ability to post further comments. Additionally, we ask that friends/family of RASO personnel do not “tag” personnel (linking those police employees to any personal social media accounts they may have) in posts/comments on the Racine County Sheriff's Office managed social media sites, both to protect police personnel privacy and for safety concerns. The Racine County Sheriff's Office use of social media is provided as a public service to increase communication with the community. This page is not constantly monitored, and should never be used to report crimes or requests for police service. The RASO disclaims liability for comments on its social media pages posted by any person or entity other than the Racine County Sheriff's Office official account, and inclusion of comments does not imply endorsement by the RASO. Furthermore, the RASO disclaims liability for ads, links, videos, promoted content or comments accessible from any external web page. On Thursday, May 21st, we proudly recognized the dedication, perseverance, and hard work of these outstanding individuals who successfully completed the Wisconsin 200-hour Jail Academy. Their commitment to professional excellence and public service reflects the highest standards of their respective organizations.

Their courage, dedication, and selfless commitment to protecting the freedoms we enjoy will never be forgotten. We also recognize the families of our fallen heroes whose strength and sacrifice continue long after the battle ends.

Captain Madrigal and Deputy Jacobsen were honored to participate in the MYLIFE! Financial Literacy Simulation at Union Grove Union High School.

This impactful program gives students a hands-on, real-world look at budgeting, managing expenses, and making smart financial decisions as they prepare for life beyond high school. Raquel was nominated by her supervisor, Ryan Geary (Records Coordinator), as an outstanding employee and an essential part of the Records Bureau team. Her professionalism, reliability, and dedication never go unnoticed. She consistently goes above and beyond, handling every task with accuracy, patience, and care while maintaining a calm and positive attitude.

The Racine County Sheriff’s Office PEER Support Team provides confidential support and resources to Deputies and Corrections Officers. Comprised of specially trained team members who understand the unique challenges of law enforcement through shared experience, the team offers compassionate, peer-based assistance to colleagues in need.

The PEER Support Team plays an important role in supporting the mental health and well-being of Sheriff’s Office personnel. By promoting open communication, trust, and understanding, the team helps reduce the stigma surrounding mental health and encourages individuals to seek support when needed.

Through confidential one-on-one conversations, group discussions, and connections to professional counseling resources, the PEER Support Team provides a safe environment for Deputies and Corrections Officers to talk through challenges, process difficult experiences, and build healthy coping strategies. Their proactive efforts help strengthen the resilience and overall wellness of the Racine County Sheriff’s Office.
