From Saturday morning Little League games to afternoon family picnics, Radcliff’s sports complexes and parks have provided generations of residents with spaces to gather, play, and compete.
While not officially a separate division, the city's parks and recreation department can be traced back to 1958 when the city acquired 19.9 acres of Fort Knox for Radcliff City Park from the federal government. The newly incorporated city paid $1,212.90.
Over the decades, Radcliff expanded its park system to support our growing city:
- Duvall Park: With entrances on Atcher and Carolyn Streets in the heart of the city, it became the home base for Radcliff’s baseball, softball, and T-ball leagues, hosting countless youth teams over the years.
- Dawley Park: Built off Shelton and Rogersville Roads, this park features soccer, football, and adult softball fields, bringing athletes and families together every weekend.
- Radcliff City Park: Situated at the north end of town off Dixie Highway and Hill Street, it is the oldest of the city's parks. It has evolved into a modern recreational spot featuring a disc golf course, playground, skate park, pavilions, basketball courts, and amphitheater.
All the parks, including the Colvin Community Center, feature playgrounds that children continue to enjoy.
