Yesterday was the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act, so we’re celebrating an who has refused to let any system hold her back.

U.S. Rep. Lateefah Simon made history as the first person born with congenital blindness elected to the United States Congress, and has spent her life opening doors for people like her. Now that she’s in the room where systems get changed, she’s making sure that those paths stay created for those following in her footsteps.
