Questions that begin with “Tell me about a time when…” are easier to answer when you have a structure.

Use the STAR method:

⭐ Situation: Briefly set the scene.
⭐ Task: Explain your goal or responsibility.
⭐ Action: Describe the specific steps you took.
⭐ Result: Share the outcome and what you learned.

Keep the situation and task brief, then focus most of your answer on your actions and results. Before your next interview, practice using STAR with an example from work, school or volunteer experience.

Partnerships make a difference! 💙

At yesterday’s Workforce Development Board meeting, PCHH shared more about its work with Foster Closet. We also heard directly from a YouthBuild student about what this partnership has meant to him—from participating in the HBI program to gaining hands-on experience with the Foster Closet through his independent living program.

Afterward, Board members toured the Mobile Foster Closet, saw how it works and had the opportunity to ask questions.

We’re so grateful for partners like Foster Closet and PCHH that help create meaningful opportunities for young people in our community!
