Good evening Facebook Democrats, thank you ALL for attending the monthly meeting tonight. And if you are a Hoke County Democrat and you missed this meeting, you missed a real treat.

Most of the local candidates running for office this election cycle were in the room. Our Chairman, Harry Southerland moved the meeting from the Hoke County Library to the Bobby Wright Agricultural Building to accommodate the growing party meeting attendees.

We had a great turn out tonight. Thirteen of our fifteen Precincts were well represented. Each Precinct was encouraged to plan and provide a community engagement activity prior to November 3rd.

The Blue Springs Precinct is planning a "Cookout, Yard Sale Fun Day for Saturday, September 26th at 164 McQuade Road; Raeford, NC. There will be FREE FOOD, FREE CLOTHES, Games and a Bouncy House for the kids as well as a Raffle for those of you who want to take a chance at winning something $.

Both Allendale and Antioch Precincts also have community engagement events in works. They will have more information available for our October meeting. These Hoke County Democratic Party community engagement events are free to the general public regardless of political affiliation. We want folks to come out, enjoy yourselves and meet your neighbors.

Well, we now have sixty-two days until the general election. Early voting starts October 15th through October 31st. We have two early voting sites, the County Commissioners Room in the Pratt Building and the Rockfish Community Building. So, let's make a plan to get out and vote during early voting. Don't go to the polls alone, take two or three people with you. Sample Ballots are available at the Hoke County Board of Elections Office. And 9th Congressional District; NC Statewide and Local Candidate Slate Cards are available by contacting party officials.

Finally, while the Hoke County Democratic Party didn't have a candidate to file for the Soil and Water Conservationist position during the filing period. We do have a "Write In Candidate". His name is James Torrence! Let's write his name on your ballot for that position as you vote!

Good afternoon our Facebook Family. The Hoke County Democratic Party (HCDP) Buchan Precinct held a very successful community engagement event today. Precinct Chair, Greg Powell and his team hosted a fun day for neighbors living in the Cameron Village, Ashley Heights, Pine Hill and Ashemont communities. The fun day activities consisted of a Cookout with Hotdogs and Hamburgers a children's Bouncy House, Corn Hole Games, Food Truck vendors and Yard Sale vendors.

Several Hoke County Democratic Party (HCDP) Officials came out to support the event. NC Senate 24 Candidate, Catina Hamm brought some of her campaign materials to give to the gathering.

HCDP First Vice Chair, Christina Davis-McCoy and Several Precinct Chairs also came out. Precinct #1 Chair, Greta Johnson, Allendale Precinct Chair, Eddie McMillan, Antioch Precinct Chair, Adrienne Graham, and Jim Davis Chair of the Blue Springs Precinct attended and had an enjoyable time.

The HCDP will be hosting more of these fun day activities throughout the county during the election cycle. Hopefully, more of our candidates will get involved with these community engagement events. Remember, all politics are local and every vote count.

Good afternoon my Facebook Family and Friends: We received some very good news today from the Democratic National Committee. The Democratic National Congressional Committee finally realized that Richard Ojeda can beat Richard Hudson in November.

Now, what I am asking all of my family members and friends is to help me help Richard win this race. It's still a toss up, but if we contribute just a few dollars weekly over the next 80+ days and volunteer to do some phone banking, canvassing or working the polls during early voting, Richard Ojeda will win in November.

For North Carolina Richard Ojeda going to congress will help Senator Roy Cooper as he is elected. And it will strengthen the North Carolina Congressional Delegation. Especially, as Don Davis, Deborah Ross, Alma Adams and Valerie Foushee returns to their Congressional District seats.

As our State Party Chair reminded us on Saturday evening at our Unity Dinner, "This an All Hands on Deck" election cycle. Remember, all politics are local and every vote count!

Sappers clear the way, Airborne all the way!

The Hoke County Democratic Party held our monthly meeting at the Hoke County Library this evening. Our Chairman, Harry Southerland and his executive committee were well prepared and created excitement as the meeting got underway. The Democratic party membership attended in good numbers and candidates of nearly all of the positions appearing on 2026 ballot were in the room.
Our 1st Vice Chair, Christina Davis-McCoy reminded us that with thirteen of fifteen Precincts being organized, we can win all of our races. "All Hands on Deck".

We had visitation from Mr. Joey White of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW). Volunteers and community engagement support are going to be needed as we increase our canvassing and phone banking efforts in the next ninety (90) days.

Mr. Bryant Crisp, Mayor of Gibsonville, North Carolina visited as he support the candidacy of U.S. Army Retired Major, Richard Ojeda running for the 9th Congressional District.

As we increase our community engagement our organized Precincts will be hosting social events throughout the county. Chair Gregory Powell (336) 558-7027) and the Buchan Precinct are sponsoring a " Cookout, Fun Day, Yard sale" on Friday, August 7th. This event is designed for help neighbors get acquainted with one another. The Cameron Village community is located in the western quadrant of the county; and the address for the event is 1690 Loop Road. The Buchan Precinct one of the fastest growing communities within Hoke County.

Our Representative Rev. Garland Pierce will be honored for his twenty-two (22) years of Legislative service to Hoke County on October 13, 2026. Governor Josh Stein will be our guest speaker. This event will be held at the Mt. Pisgah Community Center, 414 Pittman Grove Church Road - Raeford, NC.

Finally, our annual fundraiser will be held October 24, 2026 as a "Shade of Blue Gala". This event will be honoring past and present Hoke County Democratic Legends. Please save the date.

Our Hoke County Democratic Party is hosting the Unite for Justice across North Carolina event today. This is an all hands on deck to take back our courts for democracy event.

In 2026, we must elect champions for our courts up and down the ballot, and our statewide candidates: re-elect Justice Anita Earls (NC Supreme Court) re-elect Judge John Arrowood (NC Court of Appeals) re-elect Judge Toby Hampson (NC Court of Appeals) elect Judge Christine Walczyk (NC Court of Appeals)

We also have two District Court Judge candidates to vote for this election cycle. Judge Tron Faulk Ross is running for re-election for Hoke and Moore Counties; and Attorney James Allen is also running for a different District Court seat.

As Democrats please let's get involved and support these judicial candidates as well as our countywide candidates running for County Commissioners, School Board and Soil & Water Conservationist.

This Meet & Greet is for all Candidates in this election cycle.

The Hoke County Democratic Party held our last business meeting of the year 2025 tonight. We also hosted the party's first annual Christmas Dinner (gala). Our Chairman, Harry Southerland presided over the event with passion and humility. The party recognized all past and current elected officials as well as notable community leaders. Mr. Darrin Mcneill, CEO of Serenity Therapeutic Services was presented the Business of the Year Award, Rev. Ophelia R. Fenner, CEO of Maggie's Outreach Community Service was presented the party's Community Service Award and Dr. Peggy Owens of the Hoke County School District was also presented the party's Community Service Award.

While we enjoyed dinner from two catered meal lines a jazz band played music in the background. Our party chair recognized the owners of the fabulous venue where we celebrated our Christmas cheer, Mr. Jamal Shahbian of J&K Constructions and David Hasan of MSquare Constructions. The Shahbian Farm Events Center is truly one of Hoke County's hidden jewels. Thank you gentlemen for the generosity shown tonight.

These gentlemen also assisted the HCDP with gifts for lucky Democrats attending the event. Bikes, Large Screen TVs and yes Money was given the luck ones. Apostle/Attorney Gregory Thompson took his Wife's winnings and gave it to several single mothers.

The Hoke County Democratic Party had fun tonight and put smiles on the faces of a lot of Hoke County residents. Happy Holidays!
