Upon entering the small town of Rainelle, those traveling along the Midland Trail will be able to taken a step back in time to the days when the Meadow River Lumber Company was in operation. Even though the building that once housed the largest hardwood sawmill in the world has been torn down, the rows of company mill houses still remain as a reminder of days gone by.While each house has now been individualized to meet the needs of the current homeowners, their placement in the quaint community of Rainelle has not changed. STUNNED BY CLOSING OF THE LUMBER COMPANY AND REROUTING OF INTERSTATE HIGHWAY 64 TO BYPASS IT, RAINELLE IS EXPERIENCING A RESTORATION.
