Create flowers and plants with provided assorted craft supplies and we’ll add them to our bulletin board.

📚✨ Happy Birthday, Joyce Carol Oates! ✨📚

Today we celebrate the birthday of Joyce Carol Oates, born June 16, 1938.

Oates has authored dozens of novels, short story collections, essays, poetry collections, and works of nonfiction over a career spanning more than six decades.

She is known for exploring themes of identity, family, resilience, and the complexities of American life. Some of her best-known works include We Were the Mulvaneys, Blonde, and Because It Is Bitter, and Because It Is My Heart.

Fun Fact:
📖 Joyce Carol Oates began writing at a young age after receiving a typewriter from her grandmother, and she has gone on to become one of the most honored authors in contemporary American literature.

Her words remind us of the power of reading and storytelling:

“Reading is the sole means by which we slip, involuntarily, often helplessly, into another’s skin.”
